Master of Theology

About the program

Master of Theology (MTh) is a two-year regular, but non-residential degree program in Practical Theology combining an intellectually challenging and practically significant study program to suit the nature of Christian Ministry in a changing, challenging and complex socio-political, and religio-cultural environment. The program provides an opportunity to reflect theologically upon the practices of ministry, develop the necessary competencies to engage the field practically and effectively, and assists in the Continuous Professional Development.

Course of Study

In the pursuit of being intellectually challenging and practically significant programs, the course of study focuses on both conceptual and procedural knowledge through various learning methods and environments, such as lectures, reading assignments, seminars and presentation, field exposure, placement and internship, field training, projects, and workshops. Students are to engage in critical reflection and action throughout their theological formation for the purpose of knowing and experiencing the realities and possible ways of meaningful, effective and productive engagement.

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)

Eligibility: B.D. or M.Div. from a recognized body/University or its equivalent deemed fit by the Academic Committee. Ministerial experience is an advantage for admission.

Admission process: Candidates are required to sit through an Entrance Examination and Personal Interview. The dates of the Entrance test and interview is July 16, 2019. The syllabus for the entrance exam shall be as follows-

  • English
  • Reasoning and General Knowledge
  • Theology
    • Church and its Ministry in the Indian Context
    • Subject Specific Question
