The BA/BSc in Environmental Management is an integrated multi-disciplinary programme that will equip students with knowledge, skills and proficiencies to understand, identify and assess the qualitative, technical, anthropogenic, socio-economic and scientific components of environmental issues. The course aims to provide students with skills to manage different environmental issues, apply global standards and adapt to local conditions with integrated sustainability approach. Students will be equipped with efficient management of natural resources, prevention and mitigation of pollution.
About the Course:
The course is designed to provide an understanding of scientific principles and social components with factors playing a role in the environment both natural and man-made. It will allow students to learn different ways and methods to manage such situations and conditions. This course will cater practical skills in the field, laboratory, community and geographical information science. Students will obtain and apply relevant skills and knowledge in the fields of ecology, physical and chemical environment, environmental monitoring and assessment and community and social development. The course is structured in such a manner that will allow students to examine global issues, tools for management and decision making, laws and policies related to environment and will be able to combine their skills to environmental issues from sustainability perception. The special component of the course is the tribe and environment perspective which will be supported by case studies of traditional methods which are environment friendly.
Graduates of BA/BSc Environmental Management program have a number of career options in environmental science and management. Graduates can find work in research facilities, NGOs, private sector, public sector, and Research & Development Laboratories.
