BUGSMASH 2017 4th Edition

With the objective of motivating the students to be creative, think logically and critically and encourage them to acquire essential skills like computer typing and to sharpen the programming skills, Department of Computer Sciences conducted the annual BugSmash contest on Nov 14, 2017. Started in the year 2014 with Code Debugging challenge for the student of Computer Science only, BugSmash 2017 included 3 more exciting inter Departmental competitions viz Enigma- Sudoku Contest, Sprinter- Typing Contest and MAD Advertisement Contest. Speaking at the felicitation program of BugSmash 2017, Guest of Honor, Mr. Albert Nongrum, Director, HR and Administrative Head pointed out the important role that Information Technology plays in all the disciplines and the need to acquire and enhance the skills of IT. The winners for the different contests are:

Sprinter - Typing Contest

(Judges: Dr. Sanda N Lyngwa, Head, English and Communication Department, Rev Elungkiebe Zeliang, Head, Department of Christian Studies & Peace Initiatives)

Winner:  Paukhanlun Khuptong (Typing Speed: 49 wpm)

1st Runner Up: Richard Sun (Typing Speed: 42 wpm)

2nd Runner Up: Marjanki Ferrando Hadem (Typing Speed: 41 wpm)

 

Enigma- Sudoku Contest

(Judge: Twinkle K Marak, Assistant Professor, English and Communication Department)

Winner: Deepika Rajput, Department of Computer Sciences

 

MAD Advertisement Contest

(Judges: Chelmlyne Dhar, Assistant Professor, Department of English & Communication, Lalrinmuani Kingbawl, Assistant Professor, Department of English & Communication, Monika Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professor, Department of English & Communication, Rilanglin Kharpuri, Public Relations Manager,MLCU, Deverdo  Lamin, Assistant Professor, Department of Management & Commerce Studies)

Winner:  Management and Commerce Studies Department

1st Runner Up: Social Works Department

2nd Runner Up: Counselling Psychology Department

 

Code Debugging Challenge

Winner:  Paukhanlun Khuptong, BCA 5th Semester

1st Runner Up: Donbok Kharkongkor, MCA 5th Semester

2nd Runner Up: Deepika Rajput, MCA 1st Semester
