MLCU gets New Registrar

SHILLONG: Donald D Ingty, the Registrar of Martin Luther Christian University handed over his office and all its responsibilities to the new Registrar Dr (Mrs) Larilin Kharpuri, in a short ceremony held in the office today in the presence of Mr RG Lyngdoh, the Vice Chancellor, M. Albert Nongrum, Director Human Resources and the staff of the Office of the Registrar.
Dr (Mrs) Larilin Kharpuri, held the office of the Deputy Registrar of MLCU from June 2012 till date. She also has the distinct honour of being the first employee appointed by the University in February 2016.
She started as office staff and then joined the teaching faculty in the Department of Management and Commerce Studies in August 2006. She was a part of many externally funded projects that the University undertook.
Dr Kharpuri set up the Department of Environment and Traditional Ecosystems and became its first Head of Department in August, 2011.
In June 2012, she held two offices simultaneously, as the Deputy Registrar along with the post of the HoD of the department. In October 2013, she vacated her post as the HoD of the Department of Environment and Traditional Ecosystems to be a full-time Deputy Registrar.
Speaking about Dr Kharpuri, Mr Ingty stated that she is one of the most sincere and hardworking employees that he has had the opportunity to work with. He wished her the very best in her new responsibility as the Registrar and he also believes that she is the right person for this post and would definitely perform a remarkable task.
The outgoing Registrar has left a phenomenal imprint in the workings of the University and in the hearts of the teaching and non-teaching staff by dint of his exceptional experience at work, his farsightedness,his integrity, and hi sense of wit.
