MLCU organises Health Camp in farflung village

Shillong April 30: Martin Luther Christian University through its Department of Allied Health Sciences, today conducted a free Health Camp for the tpeople residing in the village of Nonghali,  Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills, on the 29th April, 2017.

The health camp held not only consultations with doctors but tests were also conducted by the students from MSc, BSc, and Diploma courses, Dept of AHS. The test included Blood Test, BMI, Vital Signs, Diet and Nutrition counseling and also Eye screening which was done by students from Bansara Eye Care Centre. An approximate of 200 residents came to avail the facilities of the health camp, with a majority of women and children below the age of 14.

The camp was initiated by the FKJGP, Nonghali Unit, Mawryngkneng Circle and the prescribed medicines were given free of cost as they were sponsored by the NSS, MLCU Unit.

The camp was attended by two doctors, Dr. Baname W.D. Waanbah and Dr. Jyrwa.
