MLCU's Allied Health Sciences Department conducts Health Camp
Shillong February 28: Martin Luther Christian University through its Department of Allied Health Sciences, today 28 February, 2017 conducted a free
Health Camp for the students of Jyoti Sroat School, Laitumkhrah at its school premises.
The health camp held not only consultations with doctors but also tests were performed by the students of MLCU from the 6th Semester BSC and 4th Semester Diploma courses, Dept of AHS. The test included Blood Test, BMI, Vital Signs, Diet and Nutrition counseling and also Eye screening which was done by MLCU students in partnership with Bansara Eye Care Centre.
The camp was attended by two doctors, Dr. Baname W.D. Waanbah and Dr. Leadstar Roy Marbaniang.
An approximate of 200 students from the school comprising of students from Nursery to Class X attended the health camp and took the opportunity to get checked and they were also given the prescribed medicines free of cost sponsored by the NSS, MLCU Unit.
Jyoti Sroat School is an inclusive school which caters to children living with impairments, which are either loco-motor disabilities, hearing disabilities, or visual impairment etc.
