The use of spoken tutorials to popularize software development and its use will be coordinated through this website. The Spoken Tutorial project is developed by IIT Bombay for MHRD, Government of India.
Main objective is to pass on the knowledge of free and open source software (FOSS) through the internet to the millions in our country who lack opportunities to learn these softwares. Some reasons for these gaps in access are:
“Free software” is a matter of liberty, not price. Hence, FOSS provides you the Freedom to
- Execute the Software
- Study how a program works
- Redistribute copies
- Modify / improvise
- So you may get the software at no cost but as per the license you can run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software.
The courses involved in the Spoken Tutorials Program are Linux, LaTeX, Scilab, PHP&MySQL, Python, Java, C/C++, OpenFOAM, Blender, K-Turtle etc.
Department of Computer Sciences, MLCU incorporates the Spoken Tutorial Program in the routine for BCA and MCA courses.
