Lakadong, Orson, Rennie
Dr. Lakadong has been serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences from the year 2007, teaching Biochemistry. He is currently the Head of Department of the Allied Health Science Department. He was a CSIR – NET Fellow for five years, in the Department of Biochemistry, NEHU after which he received his Doctoral Degree from NEHU in 2010 for his work in Elucidations of correlation between poly-ADP-ribosylation of cellular proteins and Human Cancer. Dr. Lakadong has been a Consultant in the drafting of the Meghalaya Health State Policy, 2010.
Nicol, Margaret, Bonnie
Dr. Nicol has been serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences since the year 2006 and is currently teaching Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Immunology and Medical Parasitology. She hasdone her Ph. D in Studies on The Use of Ascorbic Acid along with Cyclophosphamide on Murine Ascites Dalton’s Lymphoma. Prior to being a Professor in the Department of AHS, MLCU, she has had six years experience as a lecturer. Apart from Academics, Dr Nicol has interest and experience in radio programmes. She is also a member of the Meghalaya United Nations Association (MEGUNA) and the Shillong Society for Performing Arts (SSPA).
War, Jennifer, Ryntihlin
Dr. War teaches Biochemistry in the department of Allied Health Sciences. In addition to her classroom duties, she has been assigned the role of Associate Dean, Academics of MLCU as well and coordinates the Reproductive health, sexuality and life skills education course. She is a B.Ed and a NET qualified Associate Professor and has recently completed her PhD in the field of Reproductive health, sexuality and life skills education for indigenous youth. Prior to working in MLCU, she has had two years experience as a lecturer in the subjects of Man and Environment, Educational Statistics and Methodology of teaching Life Sciences.
Laloo, Wara Joyce, Iwamon
Dr. Laloo has been teaching Biostatistics and Physics since 2007 in the Department of Allied Health Sciences. At present, she holds the post of Deputy Director, Evaluation. She is a B. Ed qualified and is currently pursuing her PhD in the field of Education.
Lyngdoh, Linley. Michelle
Ms. Lyngdoh is an Assistant Professor in Medical Imaging Technology, in the Allied Health Science Department. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in the field of Medical Imaging Technology. Prior to being a lecturer in MLCU, she has been involved in the compilation of data for the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) and has worked as a Medical Imaging Technologist for a period of five years.
Pariat ,Sonia, Colleen
Ms. Pariat an Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Shillong teaches Medical Microbiology. She has been a faculty in the department from 2009. As a post graduate in Medical Microbiology, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Health and Technological Sciences, Sikkim she had worked on a dissertation on Hospital Acquired Pneumonia and Antibiogram in Sir Thudop Namgyal Memorial Hospital and Central Referral Hospital, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Health and Technological Sciences,Tadong,Gangtok Sikkim.
Ms. Kharmawphlang teaches Biochemistry in the department of Allied Health Sciences. She is a Masters in Medical Biochemistry and has had experience for 3 year as a Laboratory Technician in a Hospital, in Shillong.
Ms. Wankhar is currently lecturing in Medical Microbiology in the department of Allied Health Sciences. She is a Master in Medical Microbiology from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Health and Medical Sciences. Prior to working in MLCU she had worked as a part time Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology in Shillong College.
Lyngdoh, Raplang, Arwan
Mr. Lyngdoh has been an Assistant Professor in Pharmocology in the Department of Allied Health Sciences since 2011. Prior to being teaching in MLCU, he had been working as a Pharmacist. He had work on Collection, Purification and Phytochemical screening of a Natural Gum for oral controlled drug delivery system as requirement for the completion of his Master’s Degree.
Ms. Plain, Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences lectures in Haematology, Serology and Blood Banking. She has been a faculty in the Department since March 2012. She is a post graduate in Medical Laboratory Technology specialized in Microbiology and Immunology and has worked on Effects of Boric acid on Colony yield in urine specimen as a requirement to complete her Master’s Degree. She has worked as a staff technician for a period of one year in the Department of Microbiology and Serology in St John Hospital, Bangalore.
Ms. Dohtdong, has been an Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Dietetics in the Department of Allied Health since 2011. She is currently a pursuing her Ph. D in the field of Nutrition. Apart from working as an Assistant Professor, she had also worked as a Research Assistant for a one year funded project of the National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad under the College of Home Science, Central Agricultural University, Tura. She has also worked as a Consultant Dietitian in a private hospital in Shillong.
Wankhar, Zatelyne Sweety
Ms. Wankhar presently works as an Assistant Professor (Nutrition and Dietetics), Department of Allied Health Sciences, Shillong. She is currently pursuing her Ph. D in the field of Food Science and Nutrition. She is a Masters in Home Science (Food and Nutrition) and had worked on Development and Evaluation of Food Product suitable for Diabetes Mellitus as a requirement to complete her Master’s Degree. Prior to working in MLCU, she had worked as a Dietitian in a hospital in Guwahati, Assam.
Ms. Marpna an Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences teaches Nutrition and Dietetics and has been teaching since 2012. A Study on the Antioxidant property Physiochemical Characteristic and Nutrient Content of two different varieties of Turmeric (Curcumin longa) was her study for her partial fulfillment of her Master’s degree in Foods & Nutrition. She is currently pursuing her PhD in the field of Food and Nutrition.
Suchiang, Angel, Lititia
Ms. Suchiang has been working as an Assistant Professor in Physics in the Department of Allied Health Sciences since February 2012. She completed her Masters in Physics form NEHU. Prior to working in MLCU, she had work as an Asst. teacher in a school in Shillong
Nonghuloo, Pamella, Wakaniroi
Ms. Nonghuloo is currently working as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences. She completed her Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal University, Manipal Karnataka and had worked as a staff nurse in Nazareth Hospital, Shillong from 2008 to 2010.
Babai, S. Duka Donhi
Ms. Babai presently works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Shillong and teaches Surgical Technology. She is a Masters in Medical Surgical Nursing specialized in Cardio Vascular & Thoracic. She has worked on A Study to Assess the Stress and Coping among post Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) clients in selected hospital of Kolkata as a requirement to complete her Master’s Degree. Prior to working as a lecturer in MLCU, she had worked as a Staff Nurse for one year each in GNRC hospital in Guwahati, Assam (2008-2009) and in Bethany Hospital Shillong (2009-2010).
Mr. Swett is presently working in the Department of Allied Health Sciences as a Tutor cum Lab Instructor. He has completed his BSc Medical Imaging Technology, Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong. He has a Diploma in Radio Imaging and Cardio Instrumentation Technology from Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Science (RIPANS). He has worked as a Radiographer for a period of six months at Bethany Hospital, Nongpoh.
Ms. Rihokmika Rymbai is a Lecturer and has done her MSc in Nutrition & Dietetics. She has worked as Dietician at Vies Healthcare Limited Ulubari, Guwahati Diengdoh.
